Job Description

Our Scope Engineers are responsible for utilizing exterior evaluations data collected by our field technicians to create a clear and concise scope document outlining the preparation and repairs required at that particular location. Bluebeam and Design Review are utilized to estimate square footage and create marked up drawings to guide the contractors on site. Recommendations are consolidated into a short report to accompany the drawings.

Your Role :

Our entire Scope Team is fully remote and works on a per project basis where flexibility of operating hours is welcome as long as deadlines are met. As a 1099 contractor, engineers are responsible for providing their own equipment, including a Windows computer capable of
running Bluebeam drawing.

  • All engineers start out in a probationary status until established milestones are met. Initial training will be provided in a virtual or hybrid environment to familiarize probationary engineers with the project specific requirements. Extensive feedback and mentorship will be provided after initial training and as needed to ensure expectations are sufficiently communicated.
  • Projects are assigned on a weekly deadline cycle based on client needs, but a typical workload consists of 3-4 projects per week.
  • Pay is per project and includes a bonus structure.
IQualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required (no particular field specified)
  • Experience reading architectural/engineering construction documents
  • Experience with cost estimating for projects, including quantity takeoffs
  • Autodesk/CAD experience preferred
  • Bluebeam experience preferred
  • Excellent communicator
  • Ability to interpret and consolidate data to produce clear and concise documents
  • Ability to apply standards to a range of conditions using appropriate engineering judgment for situations that fall outside of defined circumstances
  • Master’s degree in an engineering field preferred
  • Prior experience in exterior coating industry preferred
Responsibilities & Exepectations :
  • Utilizing data from on site evaluations and company standards, create scoping documents to establish the preparation and repair needs of the building
  • Estimate square footage for preparation and repair for each project
  • Create support documents, such as marked up drawings and area estimations for each project
Tech Requirements:
  • Reliable, high-speed internet connection required
  • Windows based personal computer capable of handling the latest CAD programs
  • Microsoft Office 365, specifically MS Word and Excel
